Cyberbullying

I found the articles very upsetting.  I can not believe kids are doing this to one another.  This type of bullying was never really around when I was in high school, so it is fairly new to me.  I have never seen this behavior done before, but i have hear about it.  This type is not just picking on other peers at school, it is a more serious way of bullying that needs to be stopped.

Today, kids have more access to different types of communication.  They can access it anytime they want through facbeook, myspace, AIM, text messaging and email.  The people who are producing these network systems should put security and limitations especially, to certain age groups who are joining.  I feel like there are no restrictions to who can and cannot join.  Anyone can make up and identity and lie about personal information which can cause serious problems. I know through being a member of facebook, that there are little restrictions of what can and can not be posted.  I also know people who have made up false names and are trying to be someone else which they are allowed to do.

Schools and parents should take a stand to stop cyberbullying from continuing.  There should be lessons on bullying to make every student realize how it feels and what it can emotionally do to a person.  If kids are more aware of what they are doing, it might be a start to helping the problem.
